At The Strings Club, we’re incredibly proud that all our Holiday Camps are EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Ofsted-registered. But what does this really mean, and how does it compare to other types of Ofsted registrations?

In this guide, we’ll break it down and explain the different types of Ofsted registrations and what makes our camps stand out.

Ofsted registered Holiday Camps

What is Ofsted, and What Do They Do?

Ofsted stands for the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills. They inspect services that provide education and skills for all age groups, including Holiday Camps like ours.

Types of Ofsted Registrations for Holiday Camps

  1. Early Years Register (EYFS Ofsted Registration)
If you care for children from birth to the 31st of August following their 5th birthday (typically up to Reception age) for more than two hours a day, you must register with Ofsted on the Early Years Register. You’ll need to follow the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and will be inspected based on these criteria.
  2. Compulsory Childcare Register
If you care for children from the 1st of September following their 5th birthday (usually Year 1) up to 8 years old for more than two hours a day, you must register with Ofsted under the Compulsory Childcare Register.
  3. Voluntary Childcare Register
The Voluntary part of the Childcare Register is for childcare providers who: "care for children for whom compulsory registration is not required, for two or more hours in any one day; or for a period less than two hours where this includes care immediately before or after a school day." Why Choose The Strings Club’s EYFS Ofsted-Registered Holiday Camps?

We are one of the few Holiday Camp providers in the UK that cater to children aged 4 to 11 years old, offering full-day sessions. We understand that parents often need more than just four hours of care a day, and that’s why we welcome children in Reception and beyond, for the entire day.

Key Person for Every Child

At our Holiday Camps EYFS children receive a key person. Parents/carers also receive daily observation notes (“Daily Diaries”) to keep them informed of what their child has been up to that day and how they can support them in their ongoing learning.

Preparing Children for Key Stage 1

Our camps are a great way to help children in Reception transition to Key Stage 1. We focus on developing confidence, teamwork, and social skills by encouraging interaction with children of all ages (4-11 years old).

Through our carefully designed programs, children not only improve their musical abilities but also gain essential life skills such as:

  • Confidence and Teamwork
  • Building Relationships
  • Listening and Ensemble Skills

At the end of each week, children get to showcase their progress in our Grand Concert, which is a fun way to celebrate their achievements with new friends.

We take child protection and safeguarding seriously. Here’s what we do to ensure your child’s safety:

  • Safer Recruitment Process
Every staff member undergoes a rigorous vetting process, including two professional references, an enhanced DBS check, and comprehensive child protection training.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificates
