5 Free Halloween Activities for Families in Birmingham This October Half-Term

Birmingham is full of spooky surprises this October half-term, and the best part is that many of them are free! Here are five family-friendly Halloween-themed activities that will keep everyone entertained without breaking the bank.

1. Halloween Crafts at Aston Hall

Date & Time: 10am - 4:30pm,  28th October 2024 - 1st November

The historic Aston Hall is hosting free Halloween craft activities for families this half-term. Kids can create spooky decorations, learn about the hall's haunted history, and enjoy some free seasonal fun in this beautiful Jacobean mansion.

2. Halloween Story Time at the Library of Birmingham 

Date & Time: 11:30am - 12pm, 2:15pm - 2:45pm,  31 October 2024

Attend the Library of Birmingham’s free spooky storytelling session! Perfect for children of all ages to get into the spirit of Halloween. Whilst you’re there, why not sneak up to the seventh floor to enjoy the building’s Secret Garden?

3. Halloween Pop-Up Market & Craft Fair – Arden Hall

Date & Time: 12pm-4pm, 27th October 2024

Visit Arden Hall for a fun-filled afternoon of Halloween crafts, treats, decorations and live-entertainment. There will even be a fancy dress competition, so make sure you and your little ones wear your best spooky costumes!

4. Pumpkin Patch at Severn Valley Cottage

Date & Time: 10am- 4pm, every weekend in October

Going to a pumpkin patch is the perfect autumnal activity for you and your family! It is free to attend at Severn Valley Cottage, and you can spend time picking out your favourite pumpkin to carve in celebration of Halloween. 

5. Spooky Halloween Trail at Sarehole Mill

Date & Time: 11am, 26th October - 3rd November

Explore Sarehole Mill and its wonderful history whilst taking part in their Halloween Trail. Search for clues around the site and uncover spooky fun for all the family. The trail is included in the admission price, and under 2s go free!
